Quickstart Operation Guide

Powering on the cameras

The power switch is on the left side of the camera, near the back. To turn the camera on, move it up to "on."

Next, turn on the reference monitor by pushing the    symbol on the bottom right-hand side of the screen.

Controlling the pan and tilt

To control the pan of the camera (this means angling it side to side), loosen the small knob that is shaped like a water droplet close to the rod that holds the thumb controller. This will allow the camera to move side to side. It is a good idea to have this tightened if you are not actively moving the camera. 

To control the tilt of the camera (this means angling it up or down), loosen the large knob on the left side of the apparatus that holds the camera. This will allow the camera to move up and down. Make sure you are holding on to the handle rods so that the camera doesn't fall forward. 

Using the thumb controller

The thumb controller is most commonly used to control the zoom, brightness, and focus of the camera.

The piece at the very bottom of the controller can be tilted to the left or right to control the zoom of the camera. 

The brightness of the video recorded by the camera is controlled with the F- and F+ buttons. The F- button will increase the brightness, and the F+ button will decrease the brightness.

The focus of the camera can be changed in two ways. The first is to press the A button on the bottom left of the thumb controller to switch the camera into or out of auto focus. To see whether the camera is in auto focus or not, look at the screen on the right of the camera. In the middle of the right side will be displayed an "AF" or an "MF", these stand for auto focus and manual focus. Once the camera is in auto focus, wait until the image is clear (you may need to zoom in and out to get it to focus) and then take the camera out of auto focus. This is necessary because the focus will sometimes adjust randomly while the camera is in autofocus mode. This leads to a pulsing in the video output, which isn't good. 

The other way to focus the camera is to use the focus arrow buttons on the right side of the thumb controller. These will only work while the camera is in manual focus mode.
